Hello babes!
I am here to share, yet again, a healthy Spring and Summer recipe for all of you!
I hope everyone has been doing well and enjoying the warm weather.
Today, I am going to share with you one of my favorite weeknight recipes to make — Spicy sesame baked salmon with a side of baked broccoli and brussel sprouts.
This is one of my current go-to recipes because it is so easy to make and requires such little ingredients and has a very Asian-style theme towards it.
The ingredients you will need include two salmon filets, two tbsp of sesame oil (split between the two filets), chile oil (to taste, at least 1 tbsp), 3 tbsp of Tamari (excluding for serving), a pinch of garlic powder, toasted sesame seeds (for serving), one bunch of green onions (for serving), one-two heads of broccoli, and as many brussel sprouts as you desire.
Let’s start with the vegetables. Preheat your oven to 400 degrees F.
Cut your broccoli into florets and your brussel sprouts into halves. Throw them into a large bowl. Pour a tbsp of sesame oil, a tbsp of olive oil, and a tbsp of tamari along with 1-2tbsp of pepper and 1 tsp of garlic powder. Toss to coat. Place them onto a greased sheet pan and bake for 15-25 minutes. Check on the broccoli, because it will probably be done before the brussel sprouts! About ten minutes into cooking the vegetables, add the salmon to the oven.
Ten minutes into the vegetables cooking, get out two decent sized pieces of tin foil, enough to cover the filets you choose. Brush the salmon with a mixture of the sesame oil and tamari, then add the chile oil and garlic powder. Bake, wrapped in the tin foil, for ten minutes (plus or minus) until your fish is opaque and not translucent.
Top with toasted sesame seeds and green onions/chives. Add more tamari if desired. Enjoy!
I hope you guys enjoy this tasty and healthy summer meal! Thank you for reading. Until next time, honnies!
