Hey Honey’s!
I hope everyone had a lovely week and weekend…
Tonight I have the pleasure of writing about the fanciest sushi place I have ever been to, Uchi!
When I went to Uchi this time, my friend and I decided to do a 10 piece omakase.
If you haven’t seen my earlier posts, or maybe you forgot, but omakase means ‘I’ll leave it up to you’, in Japanese. This means the chef chooses what you eat.
I absolutely LOVE omakase experiences. Other than cooking and trying new recipes, It has been probably my favorite thing to do since I started my foodie journey.
Every thing that the chef sent our way was delicious! From the nigiri and sashimi, to the silken tofu, and eventually to a stunning Waygu. It was all wonderful. They gave us oysters as well which I think should be a staple in any omakase experience.
I loved every thing we got, but, if I had to choose what would be my least favorite, it would have to be the pork belly with sweet potatoes. While it wasn’t bad per say, it was some what dry and a little bit bland.
Something that really stood out to me was the dessert.
They told us it was ‘jasmine cream‘, but it was so much more than that.
It had these little crumbly things that were kind of like a gram cracker, along with a decedent cream, and was even topped with an edible flower!
Whatever was on this dessert, it was delicious! It was also so cute and visually pleasing.
Because there were so many plates, I’m not going to put all the pictures on here. Instead, I’m going to leave a few of my favorites below.
Silken tofu. Nigiri. Wagyu. Jasmine Cream Dessert.
Thanks for reading! Xoxo.
